So I’ve been spoiling myself a lot recently. I bought myself a tripod for my box brownie, and augmented it with a remote control so I can do suuuuuper-long exposures on BULB without wobbling things around. Most expensively though, I bought a 50mm f1.4 lens. I’m told they’re called nifty fifties, and it was indeed pretty quick at demolishing my bank account.
It’s giving me some new things to try and to play with, and with the tripod and remote, I’ve been getting up to all manner of things. With an f1.4 aperture setting, I can get outrageously narrow depth of field, and I’ve realised just how lazy one gets with a zoom lens. Having to move around to compose the frame seems strangely new. Anyway, here’s a few snaps from the album to share with you.

That dog either needs a shave or a pipe.
She has a rather fine briar pipe actually, but we don’t let her smoke in the garden.
